Q. What is ophthalmology / an ophthalmologist?

Q: There is a lot of discussion about Intralase safety. Is the
IntraLase Method actually safe?
A: More than 1,000,000 procedures have been performed safely and
effectively using the IntraLase Method. Patient satisfaction is
overwhelming. There have also been reports of less dry eye cases
after Lasik performed with the Intralase laser.
Q: Is the IntraLase Method painful?
A: Prior to creating the flap, the doctor applies drops to numb the
eye, and then applies a special ring and an instrument that gently
flattens your cornea in preparation for the IntraLase Method. This
part of the process is not painful and patients report feeling only
slight pressure.
