Juvederm Treatment

Juvederm is a dermal filler generally used for cosmetic purposes, particularly to treat facial wrinkles and creases. Juvederm treatment gained FDA approval in 2006 and since has been widely used on both men and women to smooth and enhance facial appearance and create a more youthful look.

How Does the Juvederm Treatment Work?

The Juvederm treatment is injected into the patient's skin with a syringe. The gel helps to improve the skin's appearance by lifting and adding volume to facial wrinkles and folds. After six to nine months, the biocompatible compound becomes naturally reabsorbed into the body.

Although side effects associated with the Juvederm treatment are rare and usually minor, they may include skin discoloration, swelling, bruising, pain and tenderness.

Juvederm treatment can cost anywhere from $300-$1,000, depending upon the size of the treatment area and the type of formula being used.

Types of Juvederm Formulas

When getting the Juvederm treatment, patients can choose from the following different formulas:

bulletLilCir Juvederm Ultra: used to smooth fine to moderate facial lines

bulletLilCir Juvederm Ultra Plus: used to smooth moderate to deep facial lines
